July 10th: Blogging for the sake of blogging

Dear Bloggowers,

Here we are, once again, at the end of another weekend. And while usually I would be pretty depressed at this point, today I am surprisingly not for one simple reason: this week we are going to ACTUALLY be building our ovens! And that causes for quite a great deal of excitement.

As of today we are still in a relatively preliminary stage: tomorrow the project proposal will be handed in and we can really get going. It sounds like some of my fellow Team Bob members have already been out in the field, rock "borrowing" and contacting barm-suppliers. It's starting to feel medieval all up in here! I personally have not been engaged in those kind of activities, but I did eat quite a lot of cherry tomatoes today, and if the epic Return of the King scene in which we see Denethor, steward of Gondor, tearing chicken flesh from its bones, smashing cherry tomatoes in his jaws, and letting the juices explode out and dribble down his face has any verisimilitude, then I have the realm of medieval eating etiquette pretty much covered.

As far as actual oven-related advancements goes, I have little to contribute at this point except to say that I have looked into procuring an "electric sabre" and I think I have a source. Pictures and updates will follow, so stay tuned.
